PLANO, Texas – September 14, 2026 – Communications & Power Industries (CPI) has received the first order for the newest version of its Multi-Orbit Constellation-Agnostic Terminal (MOCAT). The version selected is an ultra-ruggedized variant of the original MOCAT tactical flyaway antenna, with a stronger pedestal able to withstand more challenging conditions and additional payload capacity, for use in electronic warfare applications. The initial order for the MOCAT Ultra-Heavy-Duty (UHD) was awarded by a strategic defense solutions provider to the U.S. government, and the end customer will be a branch of the U.S. military. Follow-on orders are expected.

Designed for swift deployment in high-pressure conflict situations, the MOCAT tactical flyaway antenna is portable and lightweight, as well as rigid and resilient. It is precision-engineered to ensure repeatable excellent performance that meets or exceeds military specifications, maintaining reliable satellite connectivity under extreme conditions. The multi-mission terminal provides global LEO, MEO and GEO transmit and receive capabilities in L-Band through Ka-Band frequencies.

In August, CPI brought a 2.4m MOCAT tactical antenna to the U.S. Army’s Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland and successfully demonstrated its capabilities to members of the U.S. armed forces. The demonstration included rapid, tool-free assembly and the satellite acquisition process. The antenna effectively achieved rapid on-air connectivity, locking on and tracking the satellite within minutes. The integrated digital tracking receiver ensured that the terminal maintained superior connectivity throughout the test.

“CPI launched the MOCAT tactical antenna product line earlier this year to meet the multi- mission, multi-orbit needs of customers looking for quick, efficient and reliable connectivity, and it has already garnered significant attention,” said Jamie Clark, president of CPI’s Antenna Technologies division. “It is an excellent solution for commercial and military customers who need portability and superior performance at the same time. We are encouraged by the interest shown to date in the MOCAT antenna and the MOCAT UHD, and we look forward to demonstrating their industry-leading capabilities to more customers in the coming months.”
