Job Summary
The Product Line Sales Manager serves as product line champion aligned by business; an outward facing technical subject matter expert serving as the primary intermediary between sales and the business teams. This position typically specializes in a single product line or business area and is responsible for selling complex technical solutions to the internal and external customer bases. They will work closely with the regional sales team to help coordinate and support sales and proposal efforts and act as a technical expert to assist in closing complex and/or strategic deals. The Product Line Sales Manager will also work closely with Sales Operations, Finance and Business Management to develop and administer a global bookings forecast for business planning purposes.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities of the Job
Product Line Sales (50%):
•   Primary interface between the Sales and Business Management Teams
•   Represent product line to the customer and translate the needs of the customer to the product line team and vice versa
•   Proactively drive activity on a daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly basis to achieve these product line business goals
•   Identify and execute launch plans (example: distribution channel and mini campaigns)
•   Support and collaborate with Account Managers on customer meetings, discussions and product demonstrations
•   Participate in demos and tradeshow as needed for product line representation

Proposal and Quoting Support (20%):
•   Support with quoting standard products and custom product requests
•   Contribute to major capture teams as needed
•   Provide Central Account Managers with appropriate product line documentation
•   Coordinate sales efforts with other departments to ensure qualified responses to customer requests

Marketing and Product Roadmaps (20%):
•   Survey the market to provide customer oriented inputs and collaborate with Sales Intelligence/Business Managers/Tech Directors to drive product line roadmaps
•   Contribute to the development of product marketing materials
•   Generate business cases for sustaining engineering and new product development
•   Provide competitive market intelligence to Sales Intel team
•   Identify and suggest new market approaches to drive growth and profitability into the business

Reporting Tasks (10%):
•   Coordinate with the Account Management teams to maintain the opportunity pipeline within the CRM
•   Work closely with Sales Operations, Finance and Business Management to develop a business plan:
o   Develop and administer a global orders forecast
o   Assist with production schedule leveling
o   Provide guidance on anticipated revenue recognition
•   Provide weekly/monthly/quarterly report inputs as required

•   CPI leadership
•   Internal customers including Sales, Contracts, Finance, Engineering, Program and Business Area Management personnel
•   Government Customers – program management level and above
•   Commercial Customers – managerial level and above
Minimally Required Job Skills (including types of tools, equipment and materials used in the job)
•   Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
•   Strong communication and presentation skills
•   Ability to contribute to team goals

Minimum Job requirements:
•   Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience is required
•   Working knowledge of basic financial concepts
•   Strong organizational skills

Preferred job requirements
•   Understanding of the SATCOM markets
•   Working knowledge of order pipeline analysis and forecasting
•   Demonstrated experience in planning, budgeting and developing business strategies

Working Conditions (i.e. travel, work schedule, etc.)
•   Domestic and International travel required (50%-75%)
•   Typical 40 hour work week but will require periodic evening and weekend work in support of customer needs

Minimum Physical Job Requirements (i.e. lift, carry, handle 10 lbs.)
•   Ability to carry/handle 15 lbs. (occasional – tradeshow setup, demo set up)
•   Ability to work remotely and independently
•   Ability to travel
•   Long hours at a computer terminal
