A Technical Project Manager is responsible for providing project planning and management for established initiatives within the IT organization. They ensure that projects have proper scope, within an established time frame and budget. A Technical Project Manager is the lead subject matter expert within the company regarding technology concerns. They use their industry expertise to improve all aspects of project planning and resource management.

As this is a senior position held in a company, a degree or certification in Project Management or Technology field is required. Individuals who work well in a collaborative environment and pay meticulous attention to detail tend to excel in the position of Technical Project Manager. Federal Defense Contract experience highly desirable.

Job Duties:

•Analyze, plan, and develop requirements and standards in reference to scheduled projects
•Assign and oversee the daily tasks of technical personnel while ensuring all subordinates are actively working toward established milestones
•Hold regular technical team meetings to determine progress and address any questions or challenges regarding projects
•Determine and define clear deliverables, roles and responsibilities for staff members required for specific projects or initiatives
•Research and evaluate hardware and software technology options and weigh the cost/benefit analysis when making large purchases on behalf of the company
Minimally Required Competency/Skills:

•Degree or certification in Information Technology is preferred
•Professional Project Management Certification from accredited program is preferred
•Demonstrated understanding of Project Management processes, strategies, and methods
•Excellent time management and organizational skills and experience establishing guidelines in these areas for others
•Ability to effectivity present project updates with a firm understanding of dependencies, scope, cost, and milestones.
•Strong sense of personal accountability regarding decision-making and supervising department teams
•Experience working in a high-level collaborative environment and promoting a teamwork mentality
•Demonstrate strong communication skills (written / spoken)
•Managerial experience applying analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
•Ability to predict challenges and seek to proactively head-off obstacles

Minimum job requirements (including experience, degrees, licenses and/or certifications):

•Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
•Ten+ (10) years of experience in Information Technology
•Experience with Mergers, Acquisitions & Integrations
•Experience with IT Infrastructure, Cybersecurity & Enterprise Applications
•Experience with Migrating to Teams, One Drive, Azure, AWS is preferred
•Understanding of CMMC and FEDRAMP requirements is preferred
•PMP - Preferred
