Position Overview

The Electrical-Mechanical Assembler is responsible for assembling parts and components including the set-up, operation and maintenance of complex and simple machinery. The assembler will be responsible for installing, fastening and aligning various parts and components on assemblies using cranes and hoists to position. The assembler will use hand and small power tools, wire, and test, troubleshoot and diagnose defective components.

Essential Job Functions
  • Assemble parts according to specifications using assembly drawings, electrical schematics and assembly instructions
  • Fit parts to very close tolerances and operating requirements
  • Use of hand and power tools such as a soldering gun, drills and precision measuring equipment
  • Use multimeters to check electrical continuity
  • Electrical testing and troubleshooting
  • Electrical wiring and cable termination
  • Complete required job control, inventory and related reports (example: timecards)
  • Maintain assigned work area and equipment in a safe and professional manner
  • Maintain and adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Perform set up and maintenance of electronic test equipment
  • Assemble and attach hardware such as caps, clamps, knobs and switches to assemblies
  • Perform all duties in accordance with health and safety safe work requirements
  • Any other related duties as assigned
Requirements

Job Requirements
  • Completion of Secondary School diploma or equivalent work experience
  • 1-3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment with mechanical and electrical assembly experience
  • Understanding of electrical techniques preferred
  • Mathematically inclined
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to understand blueprints and other technical drawings
  • Excellent time management and project management skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking ability; strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to work in isolation or with a team
  • Willingness to extend knowledge and ability in the role

Work Conditions
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination required
  • Manual lifting of various weighted products may be occasionally required
  • Use of personal protective equipment may be required
  • Overtime as required.
