Position Overview

Working in the ESA Assembly department, the assembler will be responsible for assembling, burring and sanding various parts and components on assemblies using hand and small power tools, following exact measurements and specifications


Essential Job Functions
  • Read mechanical engineering drawings and blueprints; assemble ESA components following measurements and specifications exactly
  • Use hand and power tools such as drills and sanding equipment
  • Glue components using industrial adhesive
  • Use laser tracker to measure assembled parts, ensuring accuracy
  • Completes required job control, inventory and related reports (example: timecards)
  • Maintains assigned work area and equipment in a safe and professional manner.
  • Maintain and adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Perform all duties in accordance with health and safety work requirements
  • Perform maintenance on machinery used to position or clean components
  • Any other related duties as assigned

Requirements

Job Requirements
  • Completion of Secondary School diploma or equivalent work experience
  • 1-3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment with assembly experience
  • Ability to read, understand and follow drawings and blueprints, ensuring exact measurements and accuracy
  • Ability to learn laser tracking equipment and software
  • Knowledge of computer operating systems
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Mathematically inclined
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking ability
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to work in isolation or with a team
  • Willingness to extend knowledge and ability in the role

Work Conditions
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination required
  • Bending, kneeling and climbing occasionally required
  • Manual lifting of various weighted products is required
  • Use of personal protective equipment will be required
  • Overtime work may be required
