Description
Accountant overseeing the daily operation of all payroll functions.
Oversees the maintenance of payroll records and files in accordance with internal SOX controls, and state and federal laws and regulations.
Coordinates fiscal and calendar year-end processing of payroll, including supplemental payrolls, W-2’s, and other tax forms.
Oversees processing of payroll check exceptions and court ordered deductions.
Work with supervisors to ensure that time tracking and approvals are complete and on time.
Confirm hours are recorded properly to project costing records.
Maintenance of paid time off balances and accruals.
Extract labor hours from ERP system and uploading to the payroll system to process payroll.
Print manual checks when necessary.
Load 401K deductions taken into 401K plan.
Prepare journal entries for payroll, payroll taxes, 401(k), overtime, vacation, HRA/FSA, etc.
Weekly/monthly payroll reconciliations and analysis.
Balance payroll to 941’s.
Prepare reports and analysis pertaining to payroll, as required.
Other Accounting functions such as:
Adjusting journal entries.
Balance sheet account reconciliations.
Maintenance and reconciliation of daily cash accounts
Other special projects as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with 5 years’ experience preferred
Payroll processing experience.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
Strong computer skills.
Experience with HRIS and/or other payroll systems. Ultipro software a plus.
US citizenship or permanent resident.
