Description
SUMMARY: Under minimal supervision, plans, implements and monitors the flow of products and paperwork through the production process to meet budget and delivery times; establishes demand and buys materials to both internal and external projects, working closely with suppliers to negotiate best price and timely delivery.
DUTIES AND REPONSIBILTIES:
• Working from Engineering releases and customer orders, provides information on the parts and operations needed to manufacture telemetry, advanced antenna radar system equipment
• Works with Engineering, Drafting, PM’s, PE’s, etc. to process and implement all production drawings
• Initiates, maintains and routes requisitions, work orders and purchase orders
• Makes make vs. buy decisions to avaoid manufacturing delays
• Monitors, reports on, and expedites the progress of manufactured items through the kit, assembly and test processes
• Follows-up and acts upon disposition of defective product identified by the Quality Assurance group
• Issues and follows up on purchase orders and enters information into ERP System (M2M)
• Interacts with all company areas to solve issues to avoid slippage in manufacturing schedules
• Receives requisitions for parts and supplies and researches and selects vendors
• Verifies data accuracy on part numbers and BOM’s and reports issues to Engineering, Drafting and Manufacturing
• Processes and routes Squawks and various Quality documentation

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
• Any combination of education and experience equivalent to an Associate degree in business or Manufacturing and least five years of experience working as a buyer/planner in a manufacturing environment, preferably in aerospace or RF industry
• Experience in working with test lab, electrical and mechanical assembly groups
• Intermediate skills using spreadsheet and database application software; good skills in other office software applications such as word processing and e mail
• Ability to be detail oriented and to use creativity in resolving scheduling problems
• Ability to deal effecively and persuasively with a wide variety of people
• Abitlity to read engineering drawings, blueprints and specifications

Able to climb stairs, read documents and spreadsheets, operate a personal computer and telephone and verbally communicate with other Company employees, suppliers and vendors.
